Perfect for a solo adventure seeker
I had a lovely dinner that was truly a standout experience, a Sunday roast that knocked my socks off! Breakfast was fantastic, I mean really fantastic, a feast that set me up perfectly for a long day exploring. This place is way more than just an inn, it’s like a home away from home.
It wasn’t cheap, but honestly, considering the experience, it was totally acceptable.

excellent walks and landmarks near dartmoor's heart
My stay was filled with lovely moments as dartmoor national park is a short stroll away, allowing for breathtaking walks and stunning natural views, while the ancient bridge is just minutes from the pub, making it perfect for history enthusiasts like me. the warm colors and cozy rooms created a charming atmosphere that felt like a delightful retreat, which is great for single travelers looking for a relaxing weekend escape, but there seemed to be a slightly unsettled atmosphere among the staff that could use a bit more warmth.

During my one-night stay, I was disappointed by the slow service for breakfast despite being the only patrons. The food itself was delicious, but the long wait unnecessarily dampened the experience. the lack of basic amenities like a hairdryer was a letdown, and it felt like details were overlooked.

I had a lovely stay in the Single Room at East Dart Inn. The location felt like a hidden gem, perfect for exploring Dartmoor. Breakfast choices were good and the food was tasty, especially the Sunday roast. The cozy bar area with a log fire was inviting after a day of hiking. The room was clean and very comfortable, just what I needed after long walks. the music from the kitchen was really loud during my first few days, which disturbed the peace quite a bit. There’s also a lack of hairdryer and toiletries were not provided upon checking in, which was a bit of a hassle. It took a while to get them sorted out. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the charm of the place, but the noise and service details need attention.

Oh mate, the Vienna Beef hot dogs were a taste explosion! We also loved the roaring fire after our walk and that we were just a hop and skip from the famous clapper bridge. Can’t beat the comfy beds for a proper night's kip!
A cheeky nod to the details—no hairdryer in the room and a bit of a shower chaos with no caddy. A seat could've topped it off nicely, but it still shines like a gem!

Had a fantastic time exploring Dartmoor and this place was an excellent base. The cozy room offered a warm retreat after a day of hiking, and enjoying the pub's atmosphere with its characterful lounge and tasty cask beers really made the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight, with a good spread that fueled our adventures. Just a couple of minor things to note— a bit of shower chaos with no caddy and no hairdryer in the room would've been helpful, but it didn’t overshadow our experience.

Best breakfast ever!
Had a fab stay! The girls serving drinks were super friendly and totally made my day. The food? OMG, both lunch and dinner were so good! Plus, they put the footy on for me right away. Only thing was the room was a bit small, but I loved that it's dog-friendly. Coming back for sure!
